The Bike Bus

The Chamonix valley has a reasonably efficient bus system that connects the accommodation and riding areas. Most riders use the lift, trail and road network to get around the valley, taking the train where necessary, but in 2012 the local bus company introduced a limited Bike Bus service which serves the valley in July and August.

It’s a good way to get around, and each bike bus carries a dozen or so bikes, and riders get priority over pedestrians. It’s a good way to get around as it’s quick, efficient and isn’t as restrictive as the train (maximum 5 bikes at a time on the train, of course).

Use your Carte d’hôte guest card given to you by your accommodation provider to get around by bus for free.
